Dash into Spring

Spring brings fun things. Stand out, don’t blend in. Here’s a twist on my Spring/Summer leggings made with comfortable fabrics like bamboo jersey, cotton and nylon. Mint green and coral are perfect colors for this season.

The fashion show turned out amazing!!! It was more than I expected and I could not have asked for anything more. I appreciate all the work my group members put in to make this happen. Make-up did and exceptional job. My models were phenomenal. Photos taken by me.

Batik Cotton 3 yds $11.50yd

Batik Cotton 3 yds $11.25yd

Armani Brown Linen 1yd $16yd

Dami contributed the 100% polyester fabric

Thread 3 cones $1.25

Bias Tape 5yds $.40yd

I had to replace some fabrics because they were not working but I had an investor (my dad) but them for me so I would not go over budget. Today Liza gave me 50% of the cost of my fabric budget. Dami did not contribute anything.

Preparation for a NEW Shoot!!!

Since I am not to fond of our groups photo shoot, I have decided that I will re-shoot all of my garments with a professional photographer. I want to have strong photos for my portfolio and to leave school with.

So I am expecting to re-shoot May 24 or May 25 at Laguna Beach and I will provided my own models, hair and make-up.

Liza’s jewelry will also be featured in this photo shoot as well.

Post Photoshoot

The Photo Shoot was not what I expected. I did arrive late because I could not find the location.

When arriving to the shoot, the Photographer was not a professional and he did not know what he was doing. The one and only “professional” model canceled. So we had to little to nothing to work with.

Luckily, I saved the day and brought my two friends, Hale and Lilly to enjoy the experience with me. They fit the clothes and was able to be apart of the photo shoot.

I am a bit disappointed because not all of my garments were photographed due to difficulties with the fitting.  The clothes fit prior to the shoot when I did my fitting with my family and friends.

I am going to reschedule another photo shoot later in the quarter, so I can have better photos for my portfolio.

Today is the day of our photo shoot and I’m excited. This is amazing and I can not wait to see my designs come to life. I’m up early and preparing so things will be perfect.

Unfortunately, the model fittings are today. So we will se how this goes…

Jewelry Progress with Liza

Liza showed me the jewelry pieces for the line. They are amazing and she is definitely great at what she does. This project is coming along.

Today, I’m finishing the last touches to the garments. They will be off to the dry cleaners where they will be pressed for out photo shoot on Monday.

Late Nights and More Sewing

Been up really late for the past couple of days trying to get everything finished. I draped and cut my fabric at school about a week ago. Instead of sewing at school, I’m in the comfort of my own home. Progress of my romper.
