Comes from siksinam “black”

Ka the root of oqkatsh which means “foot”

The origin of the name came from a myth that has reference to their moccasins by the ashes of the prairie fires. Also it reference to black painted moccasins that were worn by many other tribes such as pawnee and sihasapa

She creates a wide variety of jewelry and clothing. Her individualistic approaches come from using different techniques such as printing, painting, and manipulating fabrics. She studied at the Institute of American Indian and The Art In of Chicago.
